The Varilite Icon Tall Back System has been created with the user, clinician, caregiver and technician in mind. Aiming to provide the best solution for those looking for versatility, fast installation and simple operation, this Varilite Back Support is attached to the user’s wheelchair with the VariLock hardware. The Varilite Icon Tall Back System supports from the top of the shoulders to the back, including the scapula which is perfect for those who have reduced trunk control. Where necessary headrests can be installed for further positioning options and lateral supports can be mounted onto the vertical shell slots.
The Varilite Icon Tall Back Support is easy to use. The caps simply need to be opened and the Support will slide out of the wheelchair. The Support sits in Varilite Icon Hardware that is installed onto the wheelchair. The hardware installs quickly and easily with only two parts requiring attachment, using only one tool. If required the angle, width, depth and height of the hardware can be adjusted using the easily accessible screws – adjustments can be made whilst the user is in the chair, enabling you to reach optimum comfort.
The Varilite Icon Tall Back Support comes with a rollover cushion that is secured to the inside of the cover and will reduce contact with the edge of the shell whilst moving. The Varilite air-foam floatation cushion is sculpted foam that fits the contours of the shell with no bunching. The foam is thickest along the vertebral column; with firm foam support the trunk sides and softer foam protecting more sensitive spinal areas. The cushion is adjustable using the two way air valve to ensure the perfect fit for the user.
